Welcome back to McPhee Ford today we’re taking a look at this brand new 2023 Ford F-350. This particular F-350 is a platinum model and it’s finished in a gate. Black Metallic. Now the Platinum model is one of your highest trim levels available for the new super duty. Lineup and for 2023, the super duty has received a brand new design.
So this is the brand new generation here for 2023 and again, the Platinum model is your top dog most luxurious truck. This is truly a beautiful, beautiful truck here and we’re going to take a quick walk around the outside. Here then we’ll take a look into the gorgeous interior as well, but we’ll start with the front end where again for 2023, this is a brand new design. So we do have a new headlight design here. This is the LED projector Beam on the Platinum got the nice C-clamp design there, as well as an LED fog light, and then there is a platinum exclusive Grille.
So you have the satin Chrome here in the grill, which looks really really good. You also have a front view: camera system, body, colored front bumper as well on the platinum and you get the parking sensors down there and there’s your super duty, stamping on the hood. Really really nice front end and then, if we come around to the side, there’s also a platinum, unique wheel option as well, so these are exclusive to your platinum model. This is a 20 inch machine, aluminum wheel, that is wrapped in an LT, 275 65 all-terrain tire. So again, really nice Tire, really nice wheel, design there and there’s the F-350 Platinum badging.
You got the functional heat extractor on the side and this one is equipped with the high output. 6.7 liter power, stroke. Diesel – and you know it’s the high output version, because it has the red 6.7 liter if it was black, that is the standard output and then up top here I got your Power Scope.
Tow mirror with the chrome mirror cap got your marker light on the side, and it is a dual convex mirror as well. Nice Chrome Accent on the door handles as well as that nice little Belt Line there and the new for 2023 is the bed side step. And additionally, you also have the bumper Corner step. So if you have a F-350 or a super duty in general for 2023 and it has a bed, it will come with the the bed side step and the bumper Corner step. So Ford puts those on all the trucks and this is a Super Crew.
So you get the full four-door with the six and three quarter bed also equipped is that FX4 off-road package very popular package there and then also with the Platinum model. You also get the LED tail light, really nice design there, as well as the Platinum applique on the back. Also, has the satin chrome finish, so it gets a really nice finish there body, colored, rear bumper and that doesn’t include the parking sensors car’s got your hitch receiver back here, and that is four and seven pin compatible, and this is a Class 5 hitch got your Rear view, camera and power tailgate is standard as well. So you have the power power tailgate, which includes the step. Your little measuring device right there and also for 2023 Ford, uh kind of introduced, a new feature which is also the parking sensor.
So there’s actually parking sensors on the end of the tailgate, as well as a rear view camera. So it’s actually a camera on the end of the tailgate and sensors. So when you’re backing up to, let’s say a dock and you’re loading up your truck, you have sensors and a camera. So you can keep an eye on things when your tailgate’s down so super cool. You know introductory by Ford there.
This one has a spray in bed: liner Factory spraying, definitely a must-have as well as the fifth wheel, prep package. So, of course, get your your fifth wheel and gooseneck hookup points, as well as a seven pin in the bed and led box lighting, and this one also has the two kilowatt Pro Power on board system. So you got loads and loads of power here in the bed: 120 volt, 20 amp circuits right on the passenger side and then taking a look into the interior. When you open up the door, the power Deployable running boards will greet you as soon as you open them up, and these also have approach detection. So if you have the key in your pocket, it will automatically deploy when you walk up to the truck.
So there’s no delay when you open up the door, but now we’ll take a look into the gorgeous gorgeous interior of the Platinum models. Ford really goes all out on these. Your platinums and your limiteds and your King Ranch really really go all out here. It’S got these beautiful leather seats. Really really soft material got the Platinum logo there on the back, and we also have this nice like caramel kind of stitching as well, and you got your little suede accents everywhere.
So again, this really really nice seat. Of course, they’re fully power operated, they have heated, Cooling and massage so that we have the massage back for 2023 for for most trucks. I’D say some of them are still on constraint a little bit. So you it’s a harder to get the massage function still, but some of them do have them so just keep an eye out for that and then even on the door panel got the leather right here again beautiful, stitching along the door here and some more suede Material power controls for everything also stand with Platinum is the 18 speaker, bang and Olson sound system. So we have this nice, CNC, aluminum, speaker, Grille, there’s also additional speakers in the head.
Rest there’s a little b, o logo right there and then the headliner. So you have speakers all the way around. It truly is 360 degree sound. So it sounds fantastic got your lighting controls right here. The pro power on board tailgate release all your lights and all that you know power, pedals power, steering of course, everything’s power, operated Platinum logo right there, but we’ll step inside and take a look at the key fob which is keyless.
It’S basically the same key. You get on every other Ford, it’s got the remote start and also the tailgate release on there and push button start. So again. This is powered by the high output. 6.
liter diesel. So it’s a power stroke diesel and this is also new for 2023. Now it builds off of the existing 6.7 liter Power Stroke before it did some tuning and some Hardware changes to make 500 horsepower and 1200 foot-pounds of torque, so massive massive power numbers and, along with that, you get Best in Class towing at 40 000 pounds. You also get Best in Class payload at 8 000 pounds, so Ford is really pushing the limit on these uh on these heavy duty trucks that is paired to the 10r140 automatic transmission.
So it’s a 10-speed automatic – and this is this – is the bigger version of the 10 speed. There are actually two different versions of this there’s one for your gas and then there’s two. You know one for your diesel, so you got huge huge ratings there and, of course this is four wheel drive, so new for 23 Ford introduced the XLT and above gets standard four-wheel drive. So if you have an XLT, it will have four wheel drive. If you get an XL, it will be optional, because Ford knows that you know most customers.
I’D say: 98 of these trucks are four wheel drive, so you know it makes sense that they they made. That change and and now standard is four wheel drive on XLT and above, but we’ll move on to the steering wheel. Of course, nice leather, wrapped, you got the nice little caramel stitching there on the inside and it’s heated got your platinum logo on the bottom adaptive cruise control. With the lane centering right, there got controls on the right side for the gauge cluster, which is a full screen, and this also works really really well with the with the diesel stuff. So because we have the diesel engine again, you have a specific mess section here for diesel measurements, so you can keep an eye on the boost pressure.
You have engine brake percentages and depth levels and then you know different temperatures. So you get a lot of cool information here. That will be very useful if you’re, you know towing a trailer off-road that kind of thing so super cool. You got that and then in the middle you’re gon na find the 12 inch sync 4 display. So this is a standard on Platinum, of course, and those actually was available for 2022, but it has been redesigned and it integrates a lot more features and it just works a lot better with these new 23 trucks, but you’ll, of course, get your navigation.
You got built-in Wireless carplay Wireless Android, auto got various different settings in there. All your features, your power running boards, Pro Power. You know smart hitch, onboard scale. I mean this is endless a lot of information in the screen. It would take probably hours to go through it all so you’ve got a lot of stuff here and that works again really really well with the new features that are available on this truck got the 360 camera system, which you can cycle through a bunch, a bunch Of different views right there and then moving down here, four wheel, drive again.
Four wheel drive is standard. Now on XLT and above I got your locking diff, which also comes with the FX4 off-road package, a little bit of traction climate control. Right here, heated cooled seats again heated steering wheel, a little wireless charger down there and then lots of additional storage. Nice little leather wrap console, get your platinum logo right. There lots lots of storage and then this one has the Dual glove box with the wood grain.
Just like you want to have on the door there, so you get lots and lots of storage here and then up top this one has the six auxiliary switches. So these are pre-wired. You know ready to go, you can wire a light bar or winch, or you know, fuel tank, whatever you want with these, and they are ready to go and with this Platinum, interesting enough, this it does not have a center, which you think it would. But it’s actually optional on Platinum and some customers prefer not to have a sender. If you know the save the you know a couple thousand bucks that it costs for the senders.
So this one does not have it, but of course it is optional and then I do want to show you one more thing and that is the tailgate camera. So if we put the tailgate down, I will push our tailgate button and that will power it down and then, when we put the truck in reverse so now, this camera that we’re seeing right here is actually that camera that we’re seeing on the end of the Tailgate, it says area, undertale, you’re, not visible objects, you know, maybe closer than they appear and just show the tailgates down and there are still parking sensors right there. So when you back up, you still have the parking sensors and and again you still have that visibility and then, if we take a look into the rear seat again, those power boards will come down there. For you and just like the front, beautiful beautiful leather seats. Back here again get your caramel stitching, Platinum badge on the back, and these are heated as well, so you’ve heated outer seats for your rear passengers again just to add to that Comfort, these also lift up completely.
We have the lockable fold flat storage. This one’s got, the you know the carpeted floor mats back there, but because the rubber ones are currently down, and then this is the inverter system for the Pro Power on board. So it does take up a little bit of space, but I think it’s definitely a fantastic trade-off. You know a little bit of space. You have that massive massive power – again 2000 watts of of power through the inverter system – definitely nice to have, and then you got a whole bunch of outlets back here you know USB another inverter Outlet, again: 120 volt, 20, amps, so loads and loads of power.
You got the usbcs back there and, of course, being your Super Crew model. You have loads of space and for some of you that want the specifics. So here we go. Payload rating is 38
70 pounds that’s a 38, almost 3 900 pounds and there’s your manufacturer sticker right there and the window sticker so right off. The bat MSRP on this truck is 120 450, so again, very, very expensive truck.
Very nice truck get what you pay for, but the option list here your diesel engine is going to be the most prominent there. So almost you know almost 13 and a half thousand dollars because you can get these platinums in the 7-3 gas. So if you want a gas, you can still get the 7-3 with these trucks, but the diesel will be more popular for sure and there’s various different little packages and accessories on this truck from Factory. So before you comment, this is this: is Canadian prices so keep that in mind? We earn Canadian dollars, so this will be a higher price than you would see in the States.
This is the MSRP of this truck. We get this question all the time. People say wow: how is that truck even possibly get that expensive? You guys are charging. You know 20 grand over sticker.
This is a Canadian dollar Canadian spec truck. We do not charge over sticker. We never have charge over sticker. Never will so gon na make that clear.
