Hey welcome back guys, first of all, big shout out to everybody who just subscribed to the channel incredible. I couldn’t believe how many views that last video got on the EPA stuff, so I’m going to keep you guys updated. I promise I’m going to keep you guys posted, but we got some pretty sad news to share with you guys today. This isn’t clickbait I’m getting rid of one of my LBZ durama axes, one of my diesel trucks um, but we’ll get more into that here. In a second, but before we get started, thank you so much for everyone who participated in for the toolbox, giveaway she’s ready to go she’s already, boxed on wet being shipped to Jason.
In Montana. Congratulations to you, sir! I already contacted him. He was super excited to win that thing, but I was just Towing around with the idea. Last month I posted a picture of my red truck and my gray truck.
The idea here is to vote on what truck. If I was to run a giveaway with one of the two which one would I do. I couldn’t believe how many people picked the gray truck. I thought a lot of you guys were going to want the red one cuz, the red one is what started my YouTube channel in the beginning matter of fact, a lot of you guys were pretty upset about me for even considering giving away the red truck, but The initial idea on this was to buy the gray one since it’s Russ for8 from Texas, and I was going to rebuild the red one with that gray, one. That was the idea, but got a little carried away here, did a complete frame off.
We did a complete top end head studs, RDS turbo. That works, we’ll talk about that here more in this video, but yeah in fact we’re getting rid of the great truck you guys can go on the website. Every $ 1 spent is one automatic entry. As a matter of fact, the first week is 10 times entri, so this is a perfect opportunity for you guys to get entered in, but I am giving you the opportunity to win my truck, that’s kind of where I’m getting at, but just a little disclaimer here. I still need a button.
Her up, I’ve been so busy with the cumins. I haven’t had an opportunity to get to the gray one. So during the duration of the giveaway, I’m going to be making this thing even better and better. I actually have a truckload of parts in route for the gray LBZ, but today what I’m going to do is I’m going to go ahead and take this truck into the shop, we’re going to go ahead and button a lot of things up a little bit of A squealy noise here in the front end of the engine – it’s just so hard nowadays to find a short bed clean, rust-free, 2006, 2007 LBZ Duramax and the Chevy Duramax Community. Those are probably one of the most sought-after diesel trucks for anyone to ever get their hands on, especially if they’re clean, but my website, truckmaster diesel.
om link will be in the description as well as the comments below. I want you guys to hear this. There’S a pulley noise going on, I’m pretty sure it’s one of the idler pulley I’m going to replace that as well as the belt. First things. First, we’re going to go ahead and hit the brake pedal.I got my daughter in there she’s going to help me out here. She’S my assistant. For the day, one of the tail lights are out, I’m not exactly sure which one it is go ahead and do it uh. Oh here we go all right so that one works and this one nothing all right. So now the lights are on.
Look at that nothing thinking it’s the entire wiring harness that goes to the junction box could be wrong, but we’re going to find out today. I guess so that’s going to be the first thing cuz we got to make sure that we’re all good, but luckily the third brake light works, though that’s kind of a big deal a lot of the times when I get these trucks, these things never work. Oh yeah got to get this off there. These are brand new wheels and tires brand new 22x 10s, and these are the Nitto Trail. Grapplers love these tires by the way um I’m going to do a review on these, probably here in the near future.
Probably my favorite pattern looking Tire all right, so we’re getting no voltage hit the brake pedal 12 volts. Look at that, so we are definitely getting power. I I suppose I could just do this and make this a little easier for us. Let go with the brake. All right push the brake, it’s it’s the uh LEDs inside here, that’s giv, us the trouble.
I mean it’s too bad. This was all paint matched. It looks really nice, but I might have to just completely replace these. I don’t know we still got time. I mean we got, we got a while yet until this giveaway ends, so I might have some time to fix that and repair that it’s too bad uh left blinker right, blinker matter of fact, I should have showed this to you guys in the beginning.
This is the true awesomeness of what bald eagles and tornado sound like combined together. All right, I’m done! I’M done all right. Let’S keep working so another thing that I’m going to be purchasing is a grill cuz. This one’s broken.
Meantime, I’m going to be hooking up the LED lights in the cool off-road bumper. I’M going to show you guys what it looks like so watch till the end, but yeah I’m not going to bore you to death with all the wiring and everything I wired. Everything correctly wire, loom heat shrink everything. It looks great, looks great underneath there just trust me there, but we have all of it hooked up it kind of breathes through exactly how I did this. I hooked up this light and that light to that fog.Light to that fog, light wiring harness on this side and same goes for that, and then my my nice big light bar here. I ran a light bar um wiring kit, which I had in the garage which is super. Nice ran through the firewall. I have a Reay on it. I have a fuse everything’s good to go I’ll, probably use that for something different in the future.
So I’m going to leave that, but I’m going to um open this hole up just a little bit bigger, so it can accept the switch but here’s the switch right here on and off. Look at this check. It out think it’s pretty bright. Here’S my fog lights boom bam. Actually, I’m going to go ahead and just put this on the tripod, so you guys can see what it looks like.
Not only did I do the bumper in the front, but I also did the rear LED tail lights as well. They look sweet man, so when I put this thing in Reverse, I have it ran here: Daisy, chained um. When I put this thing in Reverse, you will not have a problem backing up to a trailer backing up to anything and I feel bad for anybody behind that thing. If someone’s backing up cuz, they are going to get blinded check it out super bright. Look at this crazy, oh yeah, no problem backing up now, you’re going to see everything and I have the high output reverse lights, which I’m going to wire as well.
These are the Boost Auto Parts Tow Mirrors, gorgeous Mirrors. By the way I had these things painted at the body shop at A & D, they look amazing. Now, as far as tail lights go, I did have the old set off of my red LBZ Duramax, the one that I was going to think about giving away. But here they are, I actually hooked them up and they work just fine. So I’m going to throw those on for now.
I don’t think I’m going to keep them either way, whatever it’s not a big deal, they’re going to look just as good tail light is actually hitting the tailgate a little bit right here. So I might just take a little file to that. Maybe take a whz wheel and just kind of touch that a little bit check it out without scratching the paint here see how it’s it just kisses it right there. I need like a 16th of an inch off right there, just to make sure it’s right. So that’s what I’m going to do that should that should do it see here yep we’re not touching!
Now we’re good all right, so let’s go ahead and fix a little squealy squeal and I’m I’m playing the guessing game, but it doesn’t matter. I was planning on throwing the stuff on there anyways once I picked it up from Dylan shop, so whatever I’m going to throw it in there right now, almost guarantee you that’s the issue. I think it’s this right here, but I’m going to install this stuff start. It up and see what happens now, there’s no telling she feels pretty tight, but obviously it’s old, so we’re replacing it regardless. Now there is a little bit of play in one of these pulley, definitely enough to cause a concern, and while I’m there, I’m just going to be wiggling pulley, making sure we’re good checking power, steering gosh, that’s probably what’s causing that noise. This job turned into something bigger than I expected, but not a huge deal, so I installed one of those. Obviously, that’s old has a little bit of play in The Idler or pulley. I kept spinning pulley. Listen to this. You hear that.
That’S your fan, clutch pulley and if you don’t know, that’s what it attaches to your fan and I think that’s the co for it, regardless nothing wrong with throwing new parts at it. I was planning on doing that. Anyways. That’S why I didn’t really care figured. It was idler pulle, it probably still is who knows, but man it’s making a lot of noise, I’m going to go and start it right now and uh see if that fixed the problem, I’m pretty sure it did, though.
Well. I guess that was our issue. That’S where our squealing noise is coming from. She sounds good. Now.
All right wanted to throw a little surprise in here we’re going to go ahead and put a Banks rear diff cover on this truck. It’S going to look sweet there. We go guys Banks rear diff covered it. Look good too we’re going to put her on. Have this nice machine finish just really nice matte black and we’re going to have the stainless screws, so I’m going to remove the rear.
Diff cover, really quick. Let’S go ahead and look at this gear oil sort of murky, but not too bad, not too bad. I’M going to look at the magnet too just see what kind of material came out of that yeah not too bad at all, looks like she’s in good shape. This gasket material can be a pain to get off. I use this tool to get all the big stuff off and then just a razor blade, something simple just to scrape all that.
Gasket off there usually comes off pretty quick spray. A little brake clean on a rag, clean rag, just kind of want to go over the surface, make sure everything’s clean oil free and dry. Before I apply this um o-ring cuz, the kit actually comes with an O-ring. It’S kind of nice, you don’t have to Outsource a rear, diff gasket pan gasket, so this would be the bottom of the pan. Here, like I said it does come with an O-ring.I’Ve installed three or four of these already on SE separate trucks, and they have never leaked just as long as you guys can clean up the meeting surface of that rear. Diff nicely um. You shouldn’t have a problem whatsoever, so we have the O-ring, which is nice. Of course we have all of the bolts. We have the magnet uh drain and fill and a few other little things.
Maybe I don’t know, I think that’s for a a like a probe. Maybe like a EGT sensor, maybe a temp sensor. If somebody wanted to go that far, but pretty nice stuff here, like again I’m going to go ahead and put this on, we’ll see what it looks like and then also as I’m doing this, I do want to talk to you guys a little bit about. What’S going on underneath here, I know it doesn’t look the best uh. These don’t need to be replaced, but they’re old.
I want to put new parts on this stuff, that’s kind of where I’m getting at so for the duration of the giveaway. A lot of the newer parts are going to be installed, as you guys are going to see this thing kind of come together. For the most part, the looks of the truck yeah, that’s kind of what you’re seeing this is coming together. Obviously, most of this is already done, but when it comes to like just the little things like brakes, calipers rotors um shocks, I’m going to rip a lot of the Interior out. It’S going to look really good when I’m done with it.
It’S not going to take me too long either, but look how clean this truck is man. You just don’t find them nowadays like this, but I think you guys are going to love how this is going to turn out. Now, I’m not going to run these in we’re going to torque them to spec. I do want to at least hang it for now. So just a couple bolts should do just to kind of get me going.
Kit does come with a little tiny bit of blue locktite. You have an option to use it. You don’t have to. You will want to use them for the fill plug or the uh sight, glass plug the drain plug as well as the fill plug. But really anyone can do this in their driveway with simple tools: it’s not a scary process.
I know it’s kind of scary: removing a rear diff cover if you’ve never done it before seeing all those gears, sometimes you’re like a little over your head you’re like what am I doing the first time that I ever removed a valve body from a Allison Transmission That was that was kind of scary for me, but once you start really getting used to this stuff, it’s really not that big of a deal just be careful. Obviously, we’re almost done here once I get all these bolts set, I’m going to use my torque wrench and then just kind of go in a star pattern: uh 12 ftlb on each uh, Chrome bolt and then after that, we’ll go a and start putting all the Drain plugs and fill plugs and stuff on there, 75 w90 severe Duty, MS oil, your recommended rear end gear oil of choice. I got four of these, but basically, what I’m doing is I’m filling it up until I see it Midway into the sight glass, which is pretty slick these Banks, R diff, covers they really do come out with a really nice product. I really like um just the functionality how to service it super easy. The drain plugs right here on the pan or on the cover right underneath here you have the Side Glass, so you know if you’re, full or not, which is kind of important, because you start leaking oil out um.Sometimes you just don’t know until you start having rear end problems and then, of course, the uh easability of being able to fill the fill plug up here to the top just comes in super nice yeah, I’m going to keep filling up until I get to the Sight, glass and we’ll get to it this as long as you guys can see it in the sight glass about Midway. I did spill a little bit as I was pouring it, so I’m going to clean that up, but hey we’re done we’re good to go with. This looks really good. Tell me in the comments what you think it looks good and I know she’s going to perform nicely just a really great upgrade, but I think we’re all done here. I’M going to go ahead and lower the truck down, go ahe and get it outside and take a look at it.
It’S going to be tough to see this truck go, but I’m really excited to see who wins this thing. It’S always fun to give a truck away, but also it gives you guys a uh excuse to buy truck parts. These are the 14 by5 Chrome spiky boys. Look at that. I think they’re going to look nice.
I just took all the lug nuts off of the uh Wheels here and I think the Chrome is going to Accent the mil look or the Chrome look inside the rim really nicely so once all these are on there. It’S going to look sharp just like here, like I have the blue Spike lug nuts in there really just cleans things up my opinion anyways. If it’s not your thing, it’s easily reversible, but I think it looks sweet. I’M going to go ahead and put all of these on there right now. Look at that socket!
That’S insane! Really deep, so yeah! That’S what we’re going to use to tighten it down makes it pretty clean. Oh yes, I knew this was going to look good. We got to bring it outside, though, and actually look at it in the daylight.
Look at these girls. Oh yes got the spiky boys. We got a lot done today, guys oh yeah check out the rear end there. It is B than rear diff. It’S not screaming.
It’S not some crazy wild color. It looks good. It’S serviceable, it’s functional, I’m happy with it. I’M really glad I was able to get all this knocked out today, but man, oh man, it’s been what I think, 3 or 4 years since I’ve done a truck giveaway on the channel. It’S kind of a big deal thanks again for all the continued support.
