“Just tear the bumper off, John. It’s fine!”
A little bit of a different way to start the video today. What’s up, guys? Welcome back to the channel. It’s 7:30 on a Monday night, and I’m just getting back into town. I left one of my trucks at Southern Tire, and I couldn’t resist doing a little snooping in the shop. I spotted something interesting—a 2022-2023 body style GMC 2500 or 3500, but I can’t quite tell what they’re building on it. Jake sent me a picture, so I know what wheels are going on this truck, but I’ll show you guys more once I figure out what lift kit they’re installing. Is that an MGoy kit on a new body style? Yep, it sure is! We’ll be back in the morning to check it out.
Did I come back to the shop like I said I would? Absolutely. I never really sit down and just talk to you guys anymore, so I wanted to take this moment before diving into the usual Alex shenanigans to say thank you. We just hit 85,000 subscribers on the channel, and I never thought I’d get this far. It’s almost a bittersweet moment—I might actually cry when we hit 100,000. I’ve spent nearly seven years of my life building this, and it’s surreal to finally be close to a goal I’ve had for so long. But once you reach a milestone you’ve been dreaming about for years, it makes you wonder—what’s next? Where does the motivation come from after that?
I started this channel to build something for myself, and now I do it to hold us all accountable. If I don’t quit, you don’t quit—we’re chasing our dreams together. I don’t have a complete thought here; I’m just taking this moment to share a bit of what’s on my mind. At the end of the day, we’re chasing our dreams. Let’s get this bread.
Alright, D, come here! Which one did you build, John? Daddy built the one with the black KG1s, right? Yep, that’s the one. You guys have to let me know in the comments which one you like better—the one with the polished KG1s or the one with the black KG1s. I’m leaning toward the black wheels right now, but I haven’t seen either of them out of the shop yet. They’re about to pull out the one with the polished wheels now, so we’ll check that one out first, and then later, we’ll see the other.

I think I’ve fixed the focusing issue on my camera. So, we’ve got two different builds to show you today, and there are things I like about each of them. The first one has 24×12 KG1 Buckler wheels with 35-inch Nitto tires, a 9-inch MGoy lift with matching upper control arms, and rear traction bars. This set of upper control arms has the new mirrored stainless accent pieces, while the other truck doesn’t have the reservoirs on it. This one does. Let me know in the comments which one you like better—the 24×12 Bucklers or the 24×12 Fantasies on the all-black truck that’s about to be pulled out.
John, what’s for lunch? Some Cher on? Getting CH on again? Had it since… wow, that’s aggressive. What are you feeling—51 lunch special or steak and cheese? Hold on, hold on, chicken and cheese? Hold on, hold on.
Hey, Herm! What’s up, brother? I haven’t seen Herm in six weeks. How you been, Herm? Come back here, bro—I haven’t seen you in forever, and you’re just going to walk away from me like that? I thought we were friends! This is Herm—I haven’t seen Herm in like six weeks. Herm! Herm! Hey, come say hey! You’ve been hiding from us for six weeks, man, and now you just want to… oh, Herm, how are the kids? We’ve had all kinds of things happening up here at the shop, and you’ve just been over there. Herm, the shop roach—Herm’s been working here longer than any of us.

So, we’ve got a couple of cool builds today. We’ve got two 2024 Denali Ultimates—one’s a 2500, and the other’s a 3500. Both have the same 7-9 inch MGoy lift kit with billet accent pieces, which are absolutely beautiful—my favorite lift kit on the market, by far. Both are on 24×12 KG1s, but one has 35-inch Nitto Recon Grapplers, and the other has 37-inch Nitto Ridge Grapplers. I think I like the wheels on the other truck better, but I like the overall setup of this one more. The other truck had the upper control arms, ball joint caps, MGoy reservoirs all around, and traction bars. But I’m leaning toward the 24×12 KG1 Fantasies in black and milled color with the 37-inch Ridge Grapplers on this one. I think the 37s on the 8-9 inch lift look better than the 35s on the 7-inch lift, but that’s just my preference. Let me know what you think in the comments—do you have a favorite? It’s almost like a his-and-hers comparison.

I want to give a shoutout to Mitch at Adrenaline Off-Road for sending me that wide bow tie LED sign for my office. I’ve always wanted one of those signs. I don’t know why, but I’ve seen a lot of streamers with them, and I just had to have one. At some point, I know I’ll have to talk about this, not because I want to, but because I owe it to you guys. I’ve always been transparent and open about what’s going on in my life, and I’ve been noticing more and more comments lately. I didn’t want to say anything at first because I didn’t think it was anyone’s business, but my YouTube channel is my life. I use my life as an example to show you guys that you can chase your dreams and do what you want to do in life.

So, here it is—I don’t work at Southern Tire anymore. It’s weird to say. Before I explain why, I want to start by saying that I absolutely love Brandon, Casey, Leonard, Jake, John, Chewy—everyone up there. I’m going to miss a few names, but I didn’t want to leave. I genuinely felt like at some point, an opportunity would come along that I couldn’t say no to. And I knew I had to take it, or I would regret it later. The relationship is still there—I love them to death. I’m still at the shop filming on a weekly basis, like you see in this video. There are zero hard feelings. I left to take a job with KG1, so I’m now a sales rep for KG1 Forged.
Taking the job allows me more freedom to chase my dreams while I’m still young enough to do so. The only reason I’m sharing this is that I had a conversation with someone this morning that opened my eyes to the fact that I could have just let it go and not said anything. But I felt like I’d be betraying you guys by not staying true to what the channel was about from the beginning—chasing your dreams and showing you that it’s possible. So, I felt it was important to get on here and say something.

I love you guys—you allow me to chase my dreams. The people who watch this channel have become my friends and part of the Bread Gang, and I feel like I owe it to you to share this information. I love Southern Tire and want nothing but the best for them, but I had to take an opportunity that would allow me to grow. And it’s already proving to be the right decision. There’s a lot of content coming, a lot of great opportunities on the horizon—more than I ever imagined. And I wouldn’t have even gotten the job if it weren’t for you guys supporting the channel and me in the first place.
So, I want to thank you for that, and I hope you support the decision and continue to show love to the shop. Help me keep chasing the dream—that’s all I could ask for. This new role will allow me to film more, collaborate with more people, and have the freedom to do more. I hope you’ll see that through the content in the coming weeks, months, and years.
It was something I had to get off my chest, or it was going to bother me. So yes, I now proudly work for KG1, and I hope you guys support me in this new chapter. The one thing I’ll ask is—at the end of the day, nothing has changed. We’re still going to be filming, still going to be chasing the dream. We’re just going to be doing it even better. Road to 100K—let’s get this bread!
This version keeps the original conversational and enthusiastic tone while making it easier to follow and more engaging.
