Ups decides to leave my package right where I don’t want it, I don’t know why they do this Honestly, I got my second gen swap kit here. We’Re second gen swapping my med cab today. Is that so we can’t, we can’t tell them what we’re actually doing.

Otherwise, we’ll get hate comments. Turbo is shot on a med here We have major major issues. I didn’t really get too many driving clips for you guys, because the truck struggled so much like starting and [ Music ] driving. Obviously, we have also been waiting on a brand new turbo kit that we have to install Got this old unit here Brand new mint Straight off of ebay.com.

I understand I hate myself for this, but we went with an OEM stock turbo Now to make it up for you we’re going to get rowdy in the end of this video to test the turbo out. Of course, no second gen swap quite yet. Obviously, the plan for the medic cab down the road – I don’t really want to say it cuz, it’s supposed to be a rowdy truck, eventually know. If you tell somebody you’re going to do something and bring a turbo to a truck show uh do that. So I don’t have to spend, however much money I spent on this, But you know this whole process would have gone a lot smoother if people just kept their word and I would have been driving the med 3 weeks ago.

Turbos are known for the, especially on the fourth gen. They are known for pretty much failing. Well, the actuator veins. The veins currently on the med cab are stuck shut. So it’s not letting exhaust gases get out, But we’re just going to we’re just going to load up on the trailer Eight That was no free spool.

Well, there’s the turbo Got the the bad turbo down here, She’s down here, tucked right in 95,000 mi unit right here There she is She’s ran through You got AC line is your big issue, but it should be kind of flexible I’ve never taken off an AC Line without using the saw Every AC line, I’ve ever taken out has never gone back in. One would think this would be easy Dayton, you’re getting dust in my eyes. Oh Jesus Huh, there is more room. There’S more room says confirmed, confirms more room in the engine bay. We got the battery out.

We are now trying to get this battery box out cuz. We are going to uh, try removing the turbo as freely as possible. We don’t really want to like just work around everything, We’re just doing everything straight up, so we don’t have to pretty much make our job easier. Is this the right way to do it? I don’t know We’re going to find out Now take out the inner fender.

Well, possibly remove the wheel also, so we have even more free space up underneath there We will have literally all the room that we can possibly have to remove this turbo. Hopefully, we ain’t got to remove the manifold, We’re not 100 % sure on that. Yet That might still end up happening, Pretty much drained the truck We’re going to put new coolant in it. After it’s all done We’re going to do a couple other things than just the turbo, swap that you guys probably won’t Just general maintenance stuff that you guys. Don’T care about Getting the mcab completely up to spec for 2025 Thousands of miles left to put on her this year, So I want to get the truck up.
Huh grab another pan, We’re leaking fast, Oh god, Oh god, Another pan! Oh god, Here Bad! Oh god! Oh Jesus, I thought it’d be all right. You know if I just undid that bolt more and it just became not okay, Oh yeah, it’s Oh yeah!

Those veins are clogging from Dude I’m pulling Dude that hurts It’s like getting stuck. Yeah Yeah Right there. It’S stuck And that’s and that’s where it gets sucked where it won’t start, I’m assuming Yeah Shot. You guys can hear this squeaking noise, The veins up in there are completely shut. I believe this is all the way open, but when the truck turns off, this closes all the way And when it does that it gets stuck Like right now.

I cannot open it freely Like easily Takes a little bit of pressure to take that or break it. Open When the truck turns off – and it gets locked like that – that’s what’s causing the truck to not start It’s trapping all the exhaust gases And obviously engines need to breathe Yeah. That’S your exhaust brake, Basically, when it’s all the way closed, like that, it’s just closing your turbo up and choking it. Yes, All right! So when you’re changing your turbo, when your fork comes uh you’re, removing half the truck pretty much We’re moving right along, But we and we’ve made probably a little bit more work for ourselves than originally planned.

Oh jeez, Oh my god! There we go All right. Let’S put her out here All right, so the turbo is pretty much free, except for the exhaust manifold Aiden is using a benzomatic on a manifold flange. It’S not It’s! Not It’s!

It’S not getting hot. On the It just came loose. Did it Okay? Well, I was wrong: We’ve been using the Mr Acetylene over here Yeah. We should be removing the turbo here pretty within the next 10 10 minutes.

Currently We’re going to go test drive it We’re going to go test out. The exhaust brake Make sure the actuator and everything’s calibrated and working fine, Pretty much just give it a straight up rundown and see how it performs with the new turbo setup on it. Like I said, everything is put back together, Everything’s good to go. You get a new air filter for it, Not that’s, not a major deal. It will be getting an oil change in about 2,000 more miles, You got new antifreeze, You got a new transmission fluid.

The truck is Oh, a new fuel filter. Also So the truck is sitting perfect, mechanical wise. It’S damn near ready for 2025. I go ahead and shut the hood here and go give it a run down, go put the very first mile on the turbo and see how it does and if we did anything right wrong or if we messed up somewhere, We’ll find out right now And take Her nice and easy down the driveway Bill and boost [ Music ] here Sounds pretty good. It does sound like we have maybe possibly a slight exhaust leak somewhere, Not really sure where that would be We’re going to give her some juice here.

We’Re on tune. Five. Now, 70 mph in a matter of seconds All right. Well, the turbo works. We’Re going to break the turbo in right, we’re going to see what the mega cab has Pretty much like a a full-blown burnout here.
