Let’S do this, you ready yeah, you nervous, you don’t have to press e. You want to do it come on Aaron. I don’t want to do it all right, so this video is going to be extremely hard to watch because in today’s video we’re going to be drilling holes into the cab of my truck. But the reason why I’m so indecisive about this is because we just painted this truck when I first introduced it on the channel. I paid 2,700 bucks for it on Facebook Marketplace and it was completely Rusty and disgusting and given the condition of this vehicle.
Nobody on this planet, nobody in their right mind would restore this truck like I did, and I remember several months ago before we even put this truck in the paint booth. I was talking to my painter about possibly putting some of these boost. Auto Parts cab lights on my truck, but rightfully I really wasn’t going to make a video on this, because it’s just so cringeworthy, but I’m going to do it, I’m going to share it with you guys we’re going to see how this plays out make sure you Guys watch till the end, I’m super nervous about it. But if you watched the last video, I am in good hands. Aaron at Boost.
Auto Parts is in my shop today and we’re going to go ahead and do a full install on this and see how this looks. I’M super excited about. It now check this out. Not only are we doing cab lights, but we’re also doing running boards like we did on the Denali, it’s going to look sweet and, amongst all of the drama, I’m going to mention it in every single article.

Let’S go ahead and drill holes into my perfectly good cab.
I cannot believe I’m making this video. Let’S get started so I really think that this is going to tie the whole build in with to mirrors, of course, the headlights, how they’re stripped white like that? These are the Boost, Auto Parts to mirrors, but but really what we need guys is a set of steps. So the last video that you guys saw we put the Luma steps on the Denali and they came out absolutely incredible and I’m so excited to see these on there. I think it’s going to really tie everything together, cool part about our fix steps.
Is they actually mounted the cab bolts? So you don’t have to deal with the rocker panel. The rocker panel and a lot of these are just gone, so don’t have to deal with the rocker panel. It mounts the cab, bolts and yeah. It’S a pretty solid design.
They’Re one of the most solid steps you have to offer, so I know I shouldn’t release the price of the paint job but it’ll make you sick how much money that it cost to paint this truck, we’re not ruining the entire job. But what I’m trying to say this truck was not outfitted with cab lights. Okay, so we are drilling holes into the cab. The good news, though, is we do have a template. Actually, let’s go to this first.
So, oh, how much um? What’S the pricing on these? So this whole kit for the trucks that didn’t have it comes with the the module for the cab cab themselves, Clips specific to the vehicles that didn’t have them a harness, a template. It everything you possibly need. The only thing you need is the uh the step pit to drill into the roof which we’ll be showing uh.
It should be right around 450, okay, 450 for that, and then the steps uh the steps so the way these are optioned right around 7 7750 um. So these are hardwire adapters with the harness plus the step, pads um, so yeah, you can go from 500 to 800, depending on the options, but these are right around seven all right, let me show you really quickly how to install these. These are very simple. This. The quickest step install you’ve ever seen in your life.
If your bolts are Rusty, guys, I’m telling you right now either you’re either going to snap a bolt inside the cab or once just going to spin on you and you’re, going to hate your life um. But when you were installing these, I would even recommend put new bolts back in when you remove your old ones. It’S not a bad idea. Yes, all right! I’M going to button this up and show you guys the rest.
Look at that man. It like matches the paint that is sweet all right, all right. Let’S, let’s just get I’m sorry. Let’S just get this started, we got templates to cut off yeah yeah. We got oh squirrel squirrel squirrel squirrel, I’m going to trust the process all right here we go so uh.
Let me know in the comments, if you will, if you would actually drill holes in your cab, let me know cuz, I’m I’m doing it. So I’m already committed so yeah. I just got a cut on the line. I learned this in kindergarten. Actually I could do this.
Look at that dude. It’S like Precision cut right there, no one’s a better scissor cutter than I are those. Oh. I messed it up. My wife’s, like Josh, where are the scissors?
I don’t know they’re in my garage, how we doing this so there’s three three pieces of the template. You have your Center and your two sides. The sides are easier to line up. You’Re focused on the bottom curvature here and then the top corner. So basically you want this Outer Edge to line up, and this uh lower Edge to line up here as long as those Corners are, are pretty close.
You’Re going to have have an OE fit and finish on the cab um for the center. The other side is the same for the center one. That’S where we have to measure the center point, so we’re actually going to just measure. The width of the windshield here divide it in half mark the center. That’S where this Arrow lines up and then from there just these outer two corners once it’s centered just need to be against the that’s actually, not too bad.
Okay, that’s not too bad! So we just need to make sure we tape these down yeah, once they’re lined up you tape it and you drill the pilot holes and then uh with a uh just step bit a step bit yeah. Some of them are bigger, but we go up to 3/4. So I’d do a step bit so cool yeah, not too bad yeah, so yeah. This is 50 552, basically 552 divided by [, Music, ], two 27 and 34 two goes into five 34 times.
I you get 34. I just broke the bit. I could just smell the paint as I’m doing this yeah yeah [ Applause ], all right. Let’S do this. You ready yeah, you nervous, I’m not nervous, because you are here, I’m a little nervous.
Are you ready? I’M not. I mean we’re doing like that’s a 3/4 in hole, so it’s pretty large. You don’t have to press super hard. Your that it’ll you want to do it come on Aaron.
I don’t want to do it. My battery’s dying, my battery’s literally dying. I we’re going to do this here. We go 3/4 done. Oh that’s clean all right!
Next, okay, now I’m losing it yeah, I’m good, [, Music, ]! Let’S go yeah! He in there all right and last but not least, it’s like a scary movie, though drilling holes in done actually was it yeah, perfect, rubber, gaskets and all the screws very nice not by hand really by hand. Cuz you’ll, you’ll crack the lights. Okay, yeah!
It’S good idea. We have everything clipped up underneath here. Yes, sir, connected to the marker lights, which looks sweet, they kind of look like RoboCop. They kind of do like they have this futuristic. Looking it just looks sweet I don’t know, I’m excited.
I can’t wait to see them turned on, but yeah you’re just running wiring into what uh so yeah, I’m running a retrofit harness. So since you didn’t have cab lights, there’s no harness up there for it. So we’re feeding that harness down and then we have a ECU that goes under there. Taps return signal power. Ground normally we’d run running light under hood to the fuse box.
But since you already have our boost Auto Mirrors, that’s got a running light feed, so we’re actually going to tap into that. It’S going to save us like 30 minutes, so perfect should be pretty quick to get these up and running, and then we just got to put all that up in there and yeah and all this metal that you’re sitting on that. I didn’t put a moving the blanket down for how’s that feeling a it’s great. I love it all right, so it’s been I’d, say about 3 hours. Now, maybe four, I’m not sure I’m kind of losing track of time but check it out.
It’S installed done all right, so now what we’re going to do? Oh, hang on before we turn those on something. You said it was very interesting when you said that the way the shape of the uh or I guess the curve downward of these marker lights kind of reflect the cat eye. Look in the front, that’s kind of neat yeah. It’S done that way to reflect the same body lines as the front of the vehicle.
So if you look at it cves down on opposite sides and it kind of tapers with the body L of the vehicle, it’s easier to see with the lights on but yeah it’ll uh it’ll, look good with the The Body Lines yeah and again it’s going to Match the headlights, the uh boost, Auto Parts, uh switchbacks, they’re, all white and then of course, the Luma steps. So let’s see how bright they are you ready? Let’S do it all right d, That’s our startup sequence. It looks really good, that’s mesmerizing and then uh fourways. Look at that.
That’S insane matches everything that looks sweet. That looks so good and, of course, when you turn the blinkers on, you know, you’re just going to you, go either left or right. Just in that sequential order. So all right! Well, we got to bring it outside yeah want me to hit yours yeah.
If you don’t mind, we go got the cab lights on all right. That’S number, two pretty sweet felt good, so good. That was a good idea. What I really like, though, is the orange that matches with the orange this is. It looks like when the the turning signals are on so yeah, sequential lighting.
You see how the the light chases kind of goes from what left to right same with the running boards. Dude, I cannot believe I drilled holes in the cab. You did it, I B we blew Sparks may or may I don’t want that’s Secret Squirrel stuff. We don’t want to talk about what happened there yeah. I can’t go into detail that uh really think we need to break it up a little bit more think we could do something else to okay I’ll shut up, never mind we we’re good truck’s done.
It looks good though everything ties together. It all matches everything sequential switch back, just the way you wanted it. I appreciate you guys coming out here. They have way more products than this. This is just a just a little, I guess sneak peek of what they have there. I mean this is just a little bit, but they are known for their mirrors. That’S one thing they are definitely known for, but coming out with these cool steps, I’m pretty excited about them. I can’t wait to see you must get a lot of looks in this Denali with those running boards.
It’S constantly constantly yep yeah, there’s so many lights on this truck. It’S it’s nuts, but it uh it all ties together. It all ties together. Well, all right! So let us know in the comments right now what looks the best.
I know if I was to say if you could pick only one truck more than likely, and I would if I was to only pick one truck, it’s going to be the Denali ultimate. Of course it’s worth more, I guess that’s the best question. I’M going to ask you guys what is the best looking truck here, the black one, the white one or the orange one, I’m going to say the orange one. By far, that’s just my opinion. Well, honest opinion.
It’S fine! You are not going to hurt my feelings. Def honest opinion: it’s got to be the orange one. Video and pictures don’t do ad Justice. It is so clean.
It’S unbelievably clean. I can’t believe you drilled into it, but it’s unbelievably, it’s unbelievably clean pictures. Don’T do it justice, that’s by far the best. So all right Jam uh, I’m not kidding I’d. Take the your orange one orange one.

That’S cool! All right! Well, we’re done! Unfortunately, these guys have to hit the road man. They live right outside of Chicago, so they’re like 4 hours away and it’s late, and we got to get you guys on the road, and I appreciate you guys so much for coming out.

I’M actually very glad that I drilled into the cab still feeling a little anxious about that, but it’s done and man that’s huge before I let you guys go. Well, first off um: if you guys have been following the sunkiss build, we finally fixed the coolant leak, so no more leaks. This thing’s good to go, I’m going to be daily driving it until it snows out here. I’M hoping to put some miles on this old girl. I have about 400 miles on this truck since we put the truck together, but so far only a coolant leak and it was just a freeze plug it wasn’t a big deal. I went ahead and patch that up it’s fine, everything’s good, I’m telling you right now.
These steps were a home run. Definitely a great idea, but then again I was thinking. Should I just went Amber I’m not going back, but with operation wife Max done, I would say: sunkiss she’s done, I can add some stuff to it, but for the most part this truck’s done uh huge announcement um, I kind of spilled the beans. I think last month I posted on my Community page, but I purchased another truck for the channel and I’m so excited to reveal this to you, but please be patient with me: you’re going to have to wait till next next Monday’s video at 8:00 p.m.
